Terms & Conditions

Natural Shoots (trading as Brandjuicer Limited) (“Natural Shoots”) is the only company to design, manufacture, and sell premium-grade wildflower meadow seeds in upcycled packaging that uses reclaimed paper and plastic shotgun cartridges (the (“Product”). Applications are

in progress to patent and trademark the method, processes, and brand identity. The sale of wildflower seeds is not subject to DEFRA seed certification. Suppliers that claim to offer 'certified' or 'organic' wildflower seeds may be misleading. The supply of wildflower seeds is based on trust - that the mixtures are as specified, and of native origin, as is the case here at Natural Shoots. That is why we are trusted as the wildflower meadow seed supplier to Holland and Holland, a Royal Warrant Holder, hospitality venues, and wildlife charities.

Further, we work with a specifically selected supplier whose seed product has the lowest carbon footprint in the industry and an excellent reputation for supply chain traceability, quality (98% purity) which, thanks to innovative regenerative farming practices, produces improved germination rates, longer flowering blooms and higher nectar loads. All the seeds of the species we sell are quality-checked by trained agronomists for integrity, size, and forecast germination rates.  The supplier continually trials, tests, and refines the product at their own facilities. Where necessary we can draw on the advice of expert advisors to guide product and seed selection if you have a specific

requirement or project in mind.

Health & Safety

Natural Shoots selects native wildflower meadow seed mixes, that are intended for amenity use only, to promote habitat recovery and increase biodiversity in urban, semi-urban, semi-rural, and rural locations.

Although many wildflowers have medicinal uses our products are not intended for medical purposes or as edible plants.

You hereby agree that you will not ingest, or encourage others to ingest, in particular, the seeds or any part of the Product. You further agree that you will supervise children around the Product, especially once opened, so as to avoid children ingesting the Product. For the avoidance of doubt, each tube containing one of our seed mixes is clearly labelled “Do Not Eat”. We do not accept any liability including for loss either direct or indirect, other than statutory, for ingestion of our Product in breach of these Terms and Conditions.

Dangerous Native Wildflowers in the UK
It is important to be aware that some wildflower species in the UK can pose health risks. For example, Corn Cockle, Foxglove, Hemlock, and Wolfsbane. These plants can cause serious harm if ingested or even touched in some cases.

We can confirm that, to the best of our knowledge, Corncockle and Foxglove are not present in our wildflower seed tube mixes.

Native Wildflowers with Specific Benefits

Some of our seed mixes contain Yellow Rattle and when this is the case the mixes are clearly labelled on the website.

Yellow Rattle plant is semi-parasitic to grasses, attaches itself to the roots of grasses, and draws nutrients from them. This weakens the grasses, reducing their vigour and competitiveness enabling the Yellow Rattle and other wildflower meadow species to prosper producing more floral diversity. Yellow Rattle seeds have a short life span (up to 18 months) and must be sown when the seed has been recently harvested from the current season i.e in the Autumn of the year of harvest or not later than in the Spring of the following year.

Yellow Rattle is proven to inoculate wild meadow habitats.

Pollen

Wildflowers release pollen, which can affect hay fever sufferers. However, the primary contributors to high pollen counts are flowering grasses. To create a more hay fever-friendly wildflower meadow habitat, consider sowing without added grass seed.

Maintaining the habitat with three to five cuts (of the grasses) per year during the growing season can help discourage flowering grasses and significantly reduce pollen levels.

Dust

A small amount of dust from seeds may settle in the packaging during storage and after shipping. Wear glasses if required when opening the tubes and do not distribute near other people’s eyes.

Cuttings

Proper disposal of grass and meadow cuttings is vital. Removing them promptly will help prevent mould growth, which can pose health risks through the transfer of fungal spores. Additionally, leaving cuttings on site can smother the remaining plants and reduce biodiversity.

Native Wildflowers & Domestic Animals (Dogs & Cats)

Wildflower meadow habitats are safe for pets. They can be beneficial in stimulating the senses. However, certain wild flowers can have a bitter taste which is a natural means to avoid predation.   Owners should consult professional resources.

Native Wildflowers & Domestic Animals (Reptiles)

Wildflower meadow habitats are not safe for non-indigenous pets. Owners should consult professional resources.

Native Wildflowers & Livestock (Horses & Cows)

Wildflower meadow habitats are safe for livestock. They can be beneficial in stimulating the senses. Certain species of plant are known to offer specific health benefits to horses and cattle whereas other wild flowers can have a bitter taste which is a natural means to avoid predation. Owners should consult professional resources.

Native Wildflowers & Children

Parents and guardians should take the time to educate children about the various poisonous and harmful native plants, the importance of garden safety so they and can enjoy outdoor and indoor botanical activities safely.

Choosing Safe Native Wildflowers for Children

When selecting wildflowers with children in mind, it is crucial to be aware of the potential risks associated with certain plants.

Educating yourself and your children about these plants can help ensure safe and enjoyable outdoor experiences. Always handle unknown plants with caution and teach children to do the same.

Explaining Botany to Children

We recommend that parents and guardians take the time to assess the appropriate way to explain botany to each child.

It’s important not to touch or pick wildflowers but to explain that they must be left to feed the bees and butterflies, and if they are picked the bees will be hungry.

Understanding the potential consequences and tailoring the explanation to the child’s age and curiosity can make learning about plants both safe and enjoyable.
Consider Your Child’s Response

Before explaining botany to your child, it’s important to consider how they might react. If the child tends to do the opposite of what they’ve been told, it might be wise to avoid showing or purchasing wildflower seed or live plant products. Choosing safer alternatives can help ensure a positive and secure learning experience for the child.

Basis of Sale

We aim to give you a clear idea of the nature of the Product that we sell. However, as you can appreciate for a product line presented in upcycled packaging there may inevitably be some variations in type, size, shape, and colour between different tubes.

The exact ratio of seeds in any given mix is not possible to calculate exactly. However, each tube contains 3 grams of seeds which will provide c. 1 square metre of coverage under normal planting conditions. Descriptions, photographs, and other information pertaining to the Product is approximate and for guidance only.
